What is the WanderfulSouls SPF 30 Lip Shield?
A 4.6 g lip balm stick with SPF 30 and UVA protection, made for long days outside: hiking, skiing, trail running and anything at altitude.
Is the SPF really tested?
Yes. The SPF was measured on people (in vivo) under ISO 24444:2019 by Derma Consult Concept, an independent lab in Bonn, Germany. The result was SPF 30.
Does it protect against UVA too?
Yes. UVA protection was tested under ISO 24443:2021. The UVA protection factor is more than one third of the SPF, which is the level the European Commission recommends for sun products.
Does it use mineral or chemical sunscreen?
It uses three modern organic UV filters: Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (UVA), Ethylhexyl Triazone (UVB) and Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (UVA and UVB). There's no zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, so it doesn't leave a white cast.
What are the full ingredients?
C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Dibutyl Adipate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Cera Alba, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Candelilla Cera, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Oil, Tocopherol, Bisabolol.
Is it vegan?
No. It contains beeswax (Cera Alba).
Is it water resistant?
We don't claim water resistance. Reapply after swimming, heavy sweating or towelling.
How do I use it?
Apply a full coat before you go outside. Reapply at least every 2 hours, and after eating, drinking, sweating or wiping your mouth. At altitude or on snow, reapply more often.
Why is the stick orange?
The warm color comes from sea buckthorn oil, one of the ingredients.
I have allergies. Can I use it?
Check the full ingredient list above. It contains beeswax, castor oil, coconut oil, shea butter and sea buckthorn oil. If you're unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist first.
